Jeff served in the Army for 24 years. After he was forced to medically retire due to injuries he sustained in Iraq, I quickly realized that I needed to step back from my career and stay home to care for my hero. In addition to caring for Jeff, I needed to earn “grocery money” to support the family. With no experience in embroidery or sewing I opened an Etsy shop in 2013, selling our CanCuddlers®.

I never imagined that dedicating all my efforts to Jeff’s care would end up saving his life. The flexible schedule allowed me to advocate for him following a failed spinal surgery. Though his injuries are permanent, he continues to serve, advocating for our military community.

CanCuddler® has now grown into a full-time family business. Our daughter, Kaitlyn, joined us in the production and promotion of our products to allow us to continue our mission of providing exceptional products, all handmade in the U.S.A.

Our family is passionate about helping other military veterans and their spouses transition from military to civilian life. In 2017, we founded Patriots Cove, which is located in the mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania. The Cove provides trout fishing and healing experiences for injured veterans, first responders, and their caregivers. Our goal is to heal while inspiring a new purpose to those that have served.
